Jacobs Engineering Group to hire 2,400 new staff

Texas engineering group Jacobs will hire about 2,400 new employees in the UK over the next few years. Mainly focused at its new London office, Jacobs will also hire for additional roles across 30 other offices around the country. The jobs will focus on digital and advanced technology for areas including the environment, energy and cyber defenses.

Jacobs President, Bob Pragada, said: “Britain is a critical market for Jacobs. This investment is an indication of our ongoing confidence in the UK economy and its long-term infrastructure plans.

Jacobs, which already employs more than 9,000 people in the country, said its expansion was an indication of its confidence in the UK economy.

Its work in the UK has included programme management of the designs for the London 2012 Olympics venues.

Jacobs says its investment is a vote of confidence in the UK economy, giving young people the skills to meet future challenges.

The company also offer an MSc in Business and Strategic Leadership at Cranfield University’s School of Management to attract diverse talent and create potential leaders.

At the London office opening, Professor Brian Cox spoke to 16 to 18-year-olds from local London schools, aspiring engineers and Jacobs employees about the skills they will need for the future, giving inspirational ideas for future infrastructure projects.
